Online Application Process

Through Online Application, the applicant will have to create his/ her login. Once user credentials are verified and a login account is created, the applicant can proceed further to process their passport applications. The applicant has the choice to save the application at any stage. The application works in a wizard type and applicants will be asked to provide their detail including demographic data, biometric data along with supporting documents.

1-Fee Payment:

The mode of payment of fee is a credit card or debit card, once all application requirements are completed and reviewed, and necessary payment of the fee for passport, the application will be submitted for onward processing.

2-Verification of Documents:

All submitted applications are reviewed at DGIP Headquarters and the decision is based on the provided documents. The passport officer would either approve for onward processing or mark the applications for further verification to the nearest Mission / RPO. Once all codal formalities are complete, the application will be approved for passport printing/ dispatch to the applicant.

3-Application Status Intimation:

Applicants will be kept informed about the current status of their passport applications through their registered email addresses.

Note: Applicants are requested to provide correct/ valid information/ documents to the best of their knowledge and belief. In case of any misdeclaration, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passport (DGIP) reserves the right to take any action as per rules/ procedures that are punishable under section 6 of the Passport Act and the applicant may be sentenced and fined as well.

Note: The online passport fee once paid is not refundable / transferable (from one person to another person).

Revamped version of the Online Passport Application

As per the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the facilitation of Overseas Pakistanis is the top priority of the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGIP). On the pressing demand and keeping in view the convenience of respected overseas Pakistani’s, DGIP has launched a revamped version of the Online Passport Application with the following features:

1. User friendly
2. Smartphone compatible
3. Fee payment option is at the last step of the application so that the applicant can review and then deposit the passport fee.
4. Applicant can convert his normal application to urgent by depositing the fee difference online.

The new categories for Overseas Pakistanis

Furthermore, through this application, our Pakistani diaspora would be able to process their passport in five additional categories besides Renewal of Passport.

The newly launched categories for Overseas Pakistanis are.

1. New Passport for a newborn baby
2. Reprint of Damaged Passport
3. Reprint of Exhausted Passport
4. Reprint of Lost Passport
5. Partial Modification in Passport

Further detail of newly launched categories is mentioned below.

1. New Passport for a newborn baby (up to two (02) years of age only)

Processing of passport of newborn baby in Application Type “NEW” (Up to two years of age only). Note: To process the passport of a minor having more than two years of age, you have to visit at concerned Foreign Mission along with supporting documents.

2. Reprint of Damaged Passport

Application Type “Reprint Damage”. Please take care of your passport. In case, you non-provision of the passport pages as per SOP you would not be able to process and have to visit your concerned Foreign Mission to process your passport.

3. Reprint of Exhausted Passport

Application Type “Reprint Exhausted”. In this category, only those people would be able to apply for whom passport pages have been exhausted due to multiple visas, however in case having blank pages left are not eligible to apply.

4. Reprint of Lost Passport

Application Type “Reprint Lost” (To the extent of 1st & 2nd Lost only). Please take care of your passport as it is a very important document. Note: In case of a third loss, you have to visit your concerned Foreign Mission to process your passport.

5. Partial Modification in Passport (Marital Status/Profession)

Application Type “Modification” for female/ male applicants about their Marital Status. In the case of females, they can change their Husband’s Name and Surname too. Further, the profession may also be changed after the fulfillment of codal formalities.

Documentation Requirements for newly introduced Categories of Passport Applications

1. Scan of valid original Smart Card/ NICOP issued with father name or legal guardian name.
2. Scan of original valid CNIC/ NICOP and Passports of either the parents or legal guardian, where applicable.
3. Finger Prints Performa of both the parents and legal guardian.
4. Birth registration Certificate issued by NADRA or issued by authority of foreign government duly attested by Pakistan Mission abroad. (Attestation is required in case of issuance by Foreign Government)/ CRC/ FRC
5. In case either of the parent is deceased, a death certificate issued by NADRA or a certificate issued by the authority of foreign government duly attested by Pakistan Mission abroad. (Attestation is required in case of issuance by Foreign Government)
6. In case parents are separated/ divorced/ deceased, the Guardianship Certificate, issued in favour of legal guardian by the relevant court and attested by the Pakistan Mission abroad.
7. Original scan of a color picture with white background having specification 350/467 Pixels in JPEG/JPG format and not more than 3MB size.
8. Original scanned image of Parents Visa/ PR Card/ Asylum Card/ Other country Passport as the case may be for processing of Machine-Readable Passport (MRP).
9. Scans of original “form for minor” duly verified and signed by both the parents / legal guardian.

1. Scan of original valid CNIC/ NICOP/ Smart card.
2. Scan of Original Passport Data page, damaged page and random five pages asked by the system.
3. Original Scan Finger Prints Performa after capturing fingerprints. The form can be downloaded through the download tab after login, to your account.
4. Original scan of a color picture with white background having specification 350/ 467 Pixels in JPEG/ JPG format and not more than 3MB size.
5. The applicant has to submit a statement/ declaration that he/ she holds the original damaged passport at the time of application and how his/her passport has been damaged mentioning the damaged part of the passport. (Declaration can be downloaded through the download tab after login, to your account).

1. Scan of original valid CNIC/ NICOP/ Smart card.
2. Scan of the data page, two random pages asked by the system and the last ten passport pages of the original exhausted passport.
3. Original Scan Finger Prints Performa after capturing fingerprints. The form can be downloaded through the download tab after login, to your account.
4. Original scan of a color picture with white background having specification 350/467 Pixels in JPEG/JPG format and not more than 3MB size.
5. The applicant has to submit a statement/declaration as per the prescribed format. (can be downloaded through the download tab after login to your account) that he/ she holds the original exhausted passport at the time of application and his passport pages have been exhausted due to frequent travel.

2. Last machine-readable passport lost report as per prescribed format. (Can be downloaded through the download tab after login into your account.)
3. Original Scan Finger Prints Performa after capturing fingerprints. The form can be downloaded through the download tab after login into your account.
4. Original scan of a color picture with white background having specification 350/467 Pixels in JPEG/JPG format and not more than 3MB size.

1. Marital Status:
   1. Revised CNIC/NICOP/Smart card.
   2. Marriage certificate for females only.
   3. Scan of husband’s CNIC/NICOP or passport for female only.
   4. Original Scan Finger Prints Performa after capturing fingerprints. The form can be downloaded through the download tab after login, to your account.
   5. Original scan of a color picture with white background having specification 350/467 Pixels in JPEG/JPG format and not more than 3MB size.
   6. Original scanned image of Visa/ PR Card/ Asylum Card/ Other country Passport as the case may be for processing of Machine-Readable Passport (MRP).
